The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary/clinic setting and within the Medical and Psychiatric Service Program. The 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse State Historic Site is an iconic historical landmark in Jamestown, North Dakota. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this beautifully preserved building offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the history of the region through exhibits, public programs, and special events. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Outreach Coordinator to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing outreach programs and initiatives to engage the local community, schools, and visitors. The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with staff, community partners, and educational institutions to build relationships, promote events, and increase public awareness of the Courthouse and its offerings.This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek and no projected end date. It also qualifies for Affordable Care Act (ACA) insurance benefits. Job duties include:Develop, promote, schedule, and deliver virtual programs, field trips, virtual field trips, educational social media posts, off-site outreach, interpretation for schools, visitors, and others, as well as coach seasonal and part-time staff in doing the same.Develop and create interpretive programming for on-site tours and special events that include historical themes and/or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math topics relevant to the history of the site.Work closely with the agency's Education Outreach Coordinator to serve as a liaison with educators, schools, and students.Serve as backup to the Site Supervisor as needed.Support day-to-day operations including, but not limited to, maintenance troubleshooting, program administration and documentation including gathering statistics and providing regular reports.Familiarize visitors with the State Historical Society mission and its other state historic sites.Other duties as assigned.The Outreach Coordinator will execute their responsibilities with a positive attitude, neat appearance, and friendly and pleasant demeanor towards in-person and virtual visitors.

Ability to communicate in-person and online with groups and individuals of diverse ages, interests, and perspectives, using appropriate language, hands-on, and online skills.Willingness and ability to work some weekends, holidays, and evenings. Basic online and computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite, video conferencing, and social media. Ability to accurately complete required forms and reports such as timesheets, till counts, reservations, etc. Able to work independently and often without supervision. Must participate in interpretive training and attain a National Association of Interpretation certification.Preference will be given to applicants with previous experience in cultural interpretation, history, education, or museum education; or with a degree in history, public history, education, museum studies, or a closely related field.
