We offer competitive employee benefits package, including a fully paid family health insurance plan, paid leave, paid holidays, retirement plan, and flexible work schedule.Salary: $4,500 - $4,800 per month + benefits including fully paid family health insurance The Department of Agriculture is seeking state-wide for a successful candidate to work out of their home to serve in a regulatory role with the fertilizer program enforcing state and federal laws.Conduct inspections of anhydrous ammonia facilities to ensure compliance with state laws and administrative rules. Conduct anhydrous ammonia facility Risk Management Program (RMP) inspections in accordance with the Clean Air Act Section 112(r) and other federal laws regarding the Clean Air Act.Inspect welded repairs of anhydrous ammonia pressure vessels.Collect fertilizer samples to ensure compliance with state law.Conduct anhydrous ammonia safety compliance training with industry and the general public.Provide outreach and compliance assistance through public meetings and seminars to the fertilizer industry on how to comply with requirements and other provisions of state fertilizer and anhydrous law.Inspect fertilizer facilities for compliance with state laws and administrative rules.Assist in problem solving with other programs of the Pesticide and Fertilizer Division.Provide input to develop new policies and procedures related to the fertilizer inspection program.Review inspection cases and assist in preparing enforcement correspondence.Assist with data entry of fertilizer samples and fertilizer tonnage reports.Assist in reviewing fertilizer tonnage reports for accuracy. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in agriculture, engineering, natural or biological sciences, or related field; orBachelor's degree in another field and two (2) years of qualifying inspection experience in an agriculture related field; orAssociate degree in agriculture, natural or biological sciences, or related field and four (4) years of qualifying inspection experience in an agriculture related field; orHigh school diploma or equivalent and six (6) years of qualifying inspection experience in an agriculture related field.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently, showing initiative and motivation to carry out tasks and responsibilities without direct oversight from a supervisor. Routinely moving inspection equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally to ascend and descend a 20-foot ladder to perform inspections and working in extreme weather conditions are required to perform the duties of the position.A valid class D driver's license for in-state travel to conduct inspections. Occasional travel to other states will be necessary as part of the job, specifically for attending conferences related to fertilizers/anhydrous ammonia or training sessions relevant to the role.Must be willing to work occasional weekends and evenings to conduct the duties of this role or for travel purpose Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of fertilizers, fertilizer law and the fertilizer industry.Knowledge of state and federal laws, rules and regulations relating to anhydrous ammonia.Experience working with anhydrous ammonia.Work experience conducting inspections or investigations.Work experience reviewing technical documents.Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
