Aircraft CommanderAct as Pilot-in-Command or Second-in-Command to provide aerial transportation for state employees, conduct aerial photography and mapping.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a commercial pilot's certificate with an instrument rating, single-engine land rating, multiengine land rating, and high-altitude endorsement.Minimum of 2nd Class FAA Medical Certificate.Four years of flight experience with minimum of {1200 hours fixed-wing total flight time, of which 1000 hours are as pilot-in-command, 500 hours cross-country time, 250 hours fixed-wing turbine time, 100 hours multiengine airplane time which must be in non-centerline-thrust aircraft and 75 actual or simulated instrument flight hours, 50 of which must have been in actual flight} OR {BE200 trained and checked by an approved facility within the last four years.}Work after hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.Preference will be given to applicants with experience in:Multiengine Airline Transport Certificate.King Air flight time.250 Hours multiengine turboprop flight experience within previous five yearsCivilian flight experience within previous 5 yearsMaintenance training and/or maintenance experience.FAR Part 91/121/135 crew resource management experience.Applicants will only be considered for PIC if they have attended an approved King Air simulator school within the previous 12 months, are approved for consideration by the Chief Pilot and are approved for PIC duties by aviation insurance underwriter.Candidates' qualifications will be subject to review by Chief Pilot and aviation insurance underwriter.

The position is responsible for management, supervision, budget, and development of 12 Wildlife Management Areas of approximately 12,000 acres in District VII (Hettinger, Adams, Slope, Bowman, Stark, Billings, Golden Valley, and Dunn Counties) in southwest North Dakota. This consists of Game and Fish property and leased property from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Management includes developing and maintaining tree plantings, grass/forb plantings, food plots, noxious weed control, prescribed burning, fence maintenance, water level management as well as WMA lease agreements, federal aid work plans, and annual management plans. The position will coordinate and respond to wildlife depredation; assist with Game Management Section surveys, management, and research activities. The position will assist Private Lands Section with supervision, implementation and delivery of private land and hunter access components of the Departments Private Lands Initiative; other District and Department duties as assigned; and provide educational services, technical assistance, liaison with State, Federal, private organization partners, as well as contractors and individuals on expertise of wildlife management based on sound biological principles and practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in wildlife management, biology, natural or earth science or other related natural resource discipline and four years of professional work experience with a wildlife or natural resource management agency is required. A Master's of Science degree may be substituted for two years of actual work experience.The position requires experience in applying wildlife management concepts, wildlife habitat management practices, habitat requirements for northern Great Plains wildlife species, federal and state agricultural conservation programs and production agriculture. Applicants must have experience providing supervision to professional and support staff. Applicants must have experience in planning, preparation, and administration of detailed budgets. Applicants must have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to balance different interests.The individual must possess well-developed communication skills, both oral and written, be highly responsible, be well organized and have attention to detail. Must have the ability to work with wildlife management professionals, private landowners, wildlife clubs, the media and the general public. Must be self-motivated and adaptable to a fast-paced work environment. Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word and Excel).Applicants must be willing and able to learn additional programs and software as necessary. Must be willing and able to learn the laws, rules, and regulations related to the position. Must be able to interpret and explain policies and procedures to staff. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid class D North Dakota driver's license. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and travel extensively.Requires successful completion of a criminal background check.
