Career Description




Design Team LeaderOversee the development of the plans assigned to the District and determine assignments.Organize, conduct and attend plan reviews, PS&E and TS & L.Review existing conditions, survey data and gather information needed.Comply with design and department standards and policies.Project plan preparation.Provide input during project development at preliminary field reviews and other meetings.District Title VI Specialist.Oversee Preparation of Project FinalsReview final records and provide recommendations on acceptance.Prepare and organize project records for use in project finals.Construction Project SupervisionSupervise large federal aid projects.Plan and develop goals and objectives.Supervise work of employees and consultants performing inspection duties materials testing and surveying.Provide proper training and conduct safety meetings.Coordinate schedules to avoid unreasonable delays to the project.Keep District informed of the activities of the Consultant and Contractor to ensure all guidelines are being followed.Contract Administration and Records ManagementUtilize computer and Construction Automated Records System (CARS).Track proper shop drawings and/or certification of materials required.Negotiate change order items with contractors.Conduct necessary EEO and Labor Compliance interviews required for project.Construction Inspection, Materials Testing, and SurveyingOversee survey data collection for projects.Resolve problems encountered by survey crew.Determine elevations and establish roadway grades.Knowledge of GEOPAK and data collection.Operations of state-of-the-art electronic survey equipment.Review and approve material certifications.Resolve problems encountered by testing of materials.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires a bachelor's degree in civil engineering,Four years of professional-level engineering work experience,Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of ND.Employment of the selected candidate will be contingent on satisfactorily completing the interview process and reference check.
