The position may be filled prior to the listed closing date after successful completion of the application and interview process.Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, provide quality nursing care to inpatient psychiatric clients. Perform and supervise professional level generalized and psychiatric nursing according to established standards. Provide direct patient care, complete nursing assessments; administer medications and treatment; assist in formulating treatment programs and documents accordingly; participate in team meetings; assess clients' behavior and treatment progress; develop, implement and revise Nursing Care Plans, complete performance appraisals, coordinate personnel to maintain a therapeutic environment; provide and/or make provision for client education, provide leadership and positive role modeling for unit staff.The ND State Hospital delivers quality nursing care to all clients in accordance with Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Practice Standards developed by the American Nurses Association.To be considered for this position you are required to have a licensure as a Registered Nurse by the North Dakota Board of Nursing or registration in another state and eligibility for licensure in ND, and three years of work experience as a Registered Nurse. Satisfactory criminal background check and drug testing is required. If unable to find qualified applicants, consideration will be given to underfilling as a Registered Nurse II (3062), which requires licensure as a Registered Nurse by the North Dakota Board of Nursing or registration in another state and eligibility for licensure in ND, and one year of work experience as a Registered Nurse. If unable to find qualified applicants, consideration will be given to underfilling as a Registered Nurse I (3061), which requires licensure as a Registered Nurse by the North Dakota Board of Nursing or registration in another state and eligibility for licensure in ND.About Us:The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH), located in Jamestown, is a specialized psychiatric hospital that serves the whole state. Services focus on psychiatric rehabilitation, residential substance use disorders treatment, and residential treatment for sexually dangerous individuals.Location:You will work onsite at the State Hospital in Jamestown, ND.
