Do you enjoy working independently? The State Historical Society of North Dakota is currently looking for a custodian to join our team. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for performing a wide variety of custodial functions to maintain a clean, safe environment for visitors and team members at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. This position's core hours are 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and typically works every 5th weekend. Careers with SHSND includes 100% employer-paid family health insurance and an excellent retirement package!In order to provide consistent custodial services throughout the building, the Custodian's responsibilities include:Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors, carpets, and other surfaces.Clean, wash, and dust furniture, fixtures, windows, walls, and related furnishings.Perform cleanup of spills and stains as they occur.Sanitize water fountains and restrooms. Collect and dispose of waste materials.Assist with setting up and tearing down of events.Monitor environment and report pertinent safety or necessary repair information to appropriate team members.To be considered for the position, you must have one year of custodial or facility maintenance work with tasks such as vacuuming carpets, sweeping and mopping floors, sanitizing restrooms and fixtures, etc. Must be able to transport and operate machines such as walk behind sweepers, genie lifts, and floor scrubbers. Must be able to lift or move objects with weights up to 50 pounds with or without accommodations. Position responsibilities require frequent standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, stretching, and climbing for long periods of time.
