Are you a history enthusiast with a passion for military history and museum work? Join our team at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum to help shape the future Military Gallery! This is a flexible, 6-month position with a minimum of 20 hours per week and the potential for up to 40 hours per week. This position can be adapted to an internship for an accredited college/university. We're seeking an inventory assistant to update and enhance our military collection records. In this role, you will be responsible for: Re-catalog and photograph artifacts; Update records in our collections database, Re:Discovery; and Research military personnel and create a collections guide linking archival records and museums objects associated with specific people. To be qualified for the position, you must possess or be actively working toward a degree in history or a related field. If currently pursuing a degree, you must be of junior status or higher. Applicants should be self-starters with demonstrated research abilities and general computer proficiency. Preferred qualifications include experience with databases, digital photography and military history. We offer training in artifact handling and database use. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in museum collections work and contribute to preserving North Dakota's rich military history.
